New York Tartan Day Parade
Alumni joined guests and colleagues including Principal and Vice-Chancellor, Professor James Miller to proudly represent 亚洲影院 in New York in April 2024.
The parade brings together clans, bands, university graduates, community groups and people across the United States who celebrate their connection to Scotland and the contribution Scots have made to the USA.
Land Economics Celebration Dinner
The University was delighted to welcome back over 80 alumni to the Paisley Campus in August 2023 to celebrate the ground-breaking Land Economics programme.
It was wonderful to have representation from the class of 1972 right up to 1997 in the Brough Hall (now known as Chancellor鈥檚 Hall), to recount memories of academic staff, field trips and friendships formed whilst studying on the Land Economics course.
50 years of graduations
Some of Paisley鈥檚 first-ever graduates were among the 亚洲影院 alumni who returned for a special celebration of half a century of graduation in the town.
In all, 80 alumni, honorary graduates, staff, friends and supporters of 亚洲影院 gathered for the alumni dinner. They marked the approval in 1966 of the then Paisley College of Technology鈥檚 Honours degrees in Chemistry and Physics and an Ordinary degree in Science by the Council for National Academic Awards.
reunions & networks
Are you approaching a special academic milestone? Or just planning to get together with old university friends?
The 亚洲影院 Alumni Association can help you organise a memorable celebration. For instance, we can help you track down lost friends, or recommend venues in our local areas.
Whether or not you鈥檇 like us to help, please let us know about your plans. We鈥檙e keen to publish news and photographs from alumni gatherings.
The first cohort of graduates
The 1966 cohort was represented by four biology, science and physics graduates: Russell Henry, George Langley, Graham Milne and Hamish Vernal. Special recognition was given to 1966 Civil Engineering graduate, Dipak Basu who travelled from Canada to attend the dinner.
Other alumni returning for the event included the Rt Hon Lord McFall of Acluith, member of the House of Lords; Willie Rennie MSP, leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats; Iain Henderson, Paisley First President; and Councillor Hamish Vernal, Provost of Aberdeenshire.
